Human Weeds
Purge, Protect or Perfect?
This is one of the more important projects I’ve been blessed to participate in.
Many years ago I was approached by two brothers — one 18 years old, the other 16 — who desired to produce a documentary on a very serious topic: the question of human value in light of Margaret Sanger’s “human weeds.” The brother’s parents supported the film idea, and I was asked to help conduct some of the interviews. Our little team did road trips across the US Midwest, and traveled to New York City and Washington DC, interviewing experts and talking with people on the street.
We met with incredible individuals, had remarkable conversations, and some eye-brow raising encounters. Like when we were in Jeremy Rifkin’s office, setting up cameras and sound equipment, and his secretary interrupts with, “France is on the line.” Rifkin, who advises heads-of-state and the European Union, had graciously given us a significant block of his time, and simply brushed off the telephone call with a casual, “tell him to call back later.”
Human Weeds was released in 2018. It appeared in a few film festivals, but didn’t gain the traction it deserves. Maybe the timing wasn’t right.
It is now.
Thanks to Magnum Veritas Productions, the entirety of Human Weeds was recently re-leased on Youtube. It has also been uploaded to this platform in case the other site takes it down.

I had not heard of this video, but I watched it, and rcognized your name in the closing credits. I have a personal connection with the subject matter, with which I was already quite familiar, and I appreciate your making this available. I don't have words for what I felt while watching.
